Dr. Rand Paul Recognized as Top Defender of Liberty by Republican Liberty Caucus
Dr. Paul secured the highest Liberty Score, earning a perfect 100, making him the most liberty minded senator in the U.S. Senate.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Recently, the Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC) released its 2024 Liberty Index, a comprehensive legislative scorecard ranking U.S. Senators based on their commitment to limited government, individual rights, and free markets. U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) secured the highest Liberty Score, earning a perfect 100, making him the most liberty minded senator in the U.S. Senate.
“Kentuckians elected me to the Senate because I want to end our debt and cut taxes,” said Dr. Paul. “I want to get the government out of your way, so you, your family, your job, and your businesses can all thrive. And I’ll continue to vote that way.”
The 2024 Liberty Index evaluates 20 key votes on legislation that either advances or restricts liberty, scoring senators based on their alignment with the pro-liberty positions advocated by the RLC. The scorecard highlights the senators who consistently oppose big government spending, excessive regulations, and infringements on constitutional rights.
Dr. Paul’s Liberty Score of 100 reflects his unwavering dedication to fiscal responsibility, individual freedoms, and non-interventionist foreign policy. His legislative record includes:
- Leading the fight against warrantless government surveillance.
- Opposing irresponsible spending, including multi-trillion-dollar omnibus bills that increase the national debt.
- Promoting his “Six Penny Plan” to cut federal spending by six cents on every dollar to achieve a balanced budget in five years.
